About the Role
Equans is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead the commercial delivery of a significant Facilities Management (FM) service contract within the Sustainable Facilities Management Division. This permanent, full-time role offers a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. The Commercial Manager will provide contract commercial management, profit improvement, risk and opportunity management, and ensure compliance with contract and internal governance requirements. You will support growth initiatives within existing contracts and contribute to new business development to expand the regional contract portfolio.
Key responsibilities include identifying and driving risk and opportunity management, improving financial performance through continuous improvement, administering variation/change control to capture revenue, leading contract governance, enforcing commercial compliance, optimising cashflow, rebutting unfounded contractual claims, and managing contractual claims or disputes. You will provide day-to-day commercial support to account management teams, build strong client relationships, develop value-adding propositions, and lead governance within bidding processes to ensure company compliance.
This role involves managing multiple stakeholder relationships including clients, suppliers, leadership, and internal functions, while holding collective responsibility with the commercial team to improve operations and deliver financial plans.
Experience
- Suitable commercial experience, preferably with FM contracts
- Proven experience as a skilled negotiator in a commercial environment
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyse complex data and documentation accurately
- Sound understanding of risk analysis and management
About you
- Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- PC literate with proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to pass a DBS Basic check (required for this role)
- Educated to degree or diploma level in Law, Business, Surveying (Building/Quantity), or the Built Environment (FM, Land)
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in a relevant discipline as above
- Understanding and practical application of base English law applicable to contracts and the FM industry
