About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to significantly impact the development and modernisation of our Wastewater Non-Infrastructure (WWNI). As a Construction Assurance Engineer, you will ensure the quality and compliance of wastewater (Non-infra) construction projects. Your role involves regular site inspections (3-4 days a week), design and delivery review support, risk and issue identification, and collaborative problem-solving with stakeholders.
You will focus on the construction phase of wastewater (Non-infra) projects, assessing and reporting project progress, rectifying issues, assisting project managers, and leading the escalation process when necessary. Ensuring all non-conformance is identified and corrected is a key responsibility.
You will review documentation such as RAMS and CPP, oversee all construction activities from conception to completion, and monitor compliance with asset standards, safety, environmental and quality standards, and wider regulations.
Post-takeover, you will manage snags, documentation, liaise on defects, and oversee performance testing. You will actively contribute to project teams, ensure proper handover documentation, and carry out regular health and safety audits to ensure relevant issues are addressed.
This role requires you to be on site 3-4 days a week at Beckton Sewage Treatment Works and have access to a car for travel.
Experience
- Background in project delivery and integration within the construction sector.
- Knowledge of health and safety on construction sites.
- Wastewater experience is advantageous but not essential.

- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must hold a valid driver's licence with a clean record and have access to a car.
Qualifications
- HNC or above in an appropriate engineering subject or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- SMSTS qualification can be offered as part of the role if not currently held.
- Understanding of design, construction, and operations within industries such as the theatre sector is beneficial.
