About the Role
We are seeking a self-motivated, passionate, and proactive Water Site SCADA Systems Engineer to join our Operational Technology (OT) team. You will be responsible for the daily maintenance and fault-finding of Site SCADA systems including AVEVA System Platform / Wonderware, Iconics, and RSView across critical water treatment works, reservoirs, and booster stations in your region. This role plays a key part in the digital transformation of the UK’s largest water company, ensuring reliable, resilient, and secure SCADA operations that support 24/7 water services.
You will maintain high availability of site-based SCADA platforms targeting 99.2% uptime or higher, deliver planned maintenance such as health checks, patches, and hotfixes, and implement disaster recovery plans including annual backups. You will respond to SCADA-related service requests within 15 working days and implement security improvements to enhance system resilience.
Participation in in-hours and out-of-hours support rosters is required to provide emergency technical support and fault rectification. You will proactively use fault databases to optimise service delivery and escalate recurring faults for root cause analysis and mitigation.
In addition, you will champion OT Change Management and Risk Assessment processes, provide technical input during project design and delivery, ensure all system changes are controlled and documented, and supply SCADA asset, alarm, and event data reports to support operations and compliance. Building and managing key local OT stakeholder relationships is essential to maintain alignment and effective delivery.
As a subject matter expert, you will mentor ICA Technicians and operational teams, foster collaboration within the wider OT Service & Technical team, and contribute to consistent, high-quality support across the organisation.
