About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to significantly impact the development and modernisation of our Wastewater Non-Infrastructure (WWNI). As a Construction Assurance Engineer, you will ensure the quality and compliance of wastewater (Non-infra) construction projects. Your role will involve regular site inspections (3-4 days a week), design and delivery review support, risk and issue identification, and collaborative problem-solving with stakeholders.
You will focus on the construction phase of wastewater (Non-infra) projects, assessing and reporting project progress, rectifying issues, assisting project managers, and leading the escalation process when necessary. Ensuring all non-conformance is identified and corrected will be a key responsibility.
You will review documentation such as RAMS and CPP, oversee construction activities from conception to completion, and monitor compliance with asset standards, safety, environmental, quality standards, and wider regulations.
Post-takeover, you will manage snags, documentation, liaise on defects, and oversee performance testing. You will actively contribute to project teams and ensure proper handover documentation is completed.
Additionally, you will carry out regular health and safety audits to ensure relevant issues are addressed.
This role requires a hybrid working pattern with presence on site at Beckton Sewage Treatment Works 3-4 days per week.

Experience
- Background in project delivery and integration within the construction sector.
- Knowledge of health and safety on construction sites.
- Wastewater experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Understanding of design, construction, and operations within industries such as the theatre sector is beneficial.

- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Must hold a valid driver's licence with a clean record and have access to a car.

Qualifications
- HNC or above in an appropriate engineering subject or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- SMSTS qualification is desirable but can be offered as part of the role if not currently held.
