Location
Woodford, E17 4AE. This role will be heavily field-based around the Thames Valley area.

Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. Includes participation in an out-of-hours rota with 1 working weekend in 7.

Salary
£14.59 per hour

About the Role
You will be working on the front line as the face of Thames Water to our customers. Each year, over 500,000 water samples are tested, collected from treatment works, reservoirs, and randomly selected customer properties to ensure the highest quality drinking water. As a Customer Sampling Technician, you will test water samples, maintain sampling records and equipment to industry standards, and may investigate supply issues and customer complaints. The role involves extensive travel between customers and sites, working as part of a busy team across a wide geographical area.

As part of the role, you will take part in an out-of-hours roster including weekends on a rota basis (1 working weekend in 7). You will be responsible for planning journeys efficiently and working independently while maintaining excellent customer service.

Experience
Previous experience in driving and customer service is required due to frequent cold calling at residential and commercial properties and long periods spent driving and navigating.

About you
You will have the confidence to cold call customers, be organised, and able to work well independently. Good computer literacy is essential. You should have an existing knowledge of or be open to learning about the water industry and relevant processes.

Qualifications
A clean manual driving licence is required for this role.
