
Location
Hammersmith, London (Depot base in West London at either Hammersmith or Walton)
Hours
Standard working hours are 7:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday. You will also be on a standby rota up to 2 weekends every 7 weeks, including evenings and weekends, for which additional payment is provided.
Salary
£28,830 per annum
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of Thames Water, acting as the friendly face when meeting customers. Each year, over 500,000 water sample checks are conducted from treatment centres, reservoirs, and customer homes to ensure the highest water quality.
- You will be travelling frequently between customers and sites, working as part of a lively team covering a large area.
- Your main responsibility will be testing water samples in domestic homes and businesses.
- You will manage sampling records and maintain sampling equipment to industry standards.
- Occasionally, you may assist with investigating supply issues or customer complaints.
This role offers a varied and technical working environment with a focus on customer service and water quality assurance.
Experience
- Confident driving experience in medium-sized vehicles in busy, high-traffic areas.
- Customer-facing experience, comfortable visiting domestic homes and businesses.
About you
- Organised and able to plan your routes effectively.
- Able to work independently and set up your day.
- Good computer literacy and attention to detail to follow technical procedures.
- A positive attitude towards learning, especially if new to the water industry.
Qualifications
- Clean manual driving licence is essential.
- Knowledge of the water industry is a plus but not required as full training will be provided.
