About the Role
As an ECC Project Manager at Mott MacDonald, you will be responsible for the full scope of successful project delivery including appraisal, planning, detailed design, construction, and delivery phases. You will ensure compliance with HM Treasury Governance and processes covering Project Management, Health & Safety, Commercial, Risk & Value, and Budget management. You will lead a delivery team and manage all key stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
You will actively manage stakeholders to clarify requirements and agree project priorities, maintain their involvement in key decisions, and effectively manage project risks and opportunities by identifying, allocating, and mitigating them. You will be accountable for the commercial objectives of the project, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Maintaining excellent communication with clients and the wider programme team is essential. You will also be responsible for the project programme, working with multidisciplinary delivery teams to update it as required.

About the Business Unit
The Advisory and Programme Delivery (APD) unit delivers management services across sectors including Built Environment, Defence, Energy, Water, Transportation, Education, Health and Care. Our environment and water portfolio primarily serves UK regulated water/wastewater clients and the Environment Agency. We manage projects ranging from several hundred thousand pounds to major programmes worth over £0.5 billion, covering the entire project lifecycle from cost estimating to commercial assurance. We also host the cost intelligence service, providing expert advice on inflation and indexation.

Experience
- Project management experience across a range of disciplines and contract/procurement methods
- Experience managing projects within the Water and Environment sector
- Practical experience with NEC contracts
About You
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to foster and promote collaborative working relationships
- Experience working ‘client side’ for the Environment Agency, DEFRA, or other RMAs is advantageous but not essential
Qualifications
- Degree in engineering or project management related subject
- Relevant professional qualification such as APM or Prince 2
- Full membership or working towards full membership of a relevant chartered body (e.g. MAPM, MCIWEM, MICE, MCIOB, MRICS)
