About the Role
Do you love being outdoors and have a passion for connecting people with nature? Join the award-winning Thames Basin Heaths Partnership as an Education Warden, working across Surrey, Hampshire, and Berkshire. This role offers the opportunity to spend your days on beautiful heathlands rather than behind a desk, engaging with a wide variety of people and helping to protect some of England's most important wildlife sites.

You will help deliver the Our Amazing Heathlands education programme, inspiring children and young people to connect with nature through engaging, curriculum-linked sessions both in schools and out on the heathlands. Your work will be varied and dynamic, from leading field sessions with primary school pupils to running community events and creating content for social media.

Typical activities include working outdoors in heathland landscapes, meeting diverse groups of people, inspiring children, families, and visitors to care about nature, organising events and pop-up engagement sessions, and collaborating with land managers, councils, Wildlife Trusts, the RSPB, Forestry England, the MOD, and other conservation partners. You will also contribute to protecting rare wildlife through education, engagement, and awareness raising.

No two days are the same. You might be leading a school visit, speaking with dog walkers on the heath, supporting community projects, surveying visitors, or working with partners to deliver engagement activities. This role is ideal for someone enthusiastic about nature, confident in communicating with people from all walks of life, and eager to make a real difference to one of the country's most important heathland landscapes.
