£38,256 - £44,685 per annum (£46,968 unconsolidated maximum)
About the Role
This role is based within the Council’s Climate Action and Emergency Planning team. The postholder will be responsible for delivering and facilitating projects that support the Council’s Environment Strategy, Climate Emergency Response Plan, and Waste Strategy. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, partners, and the local community to drive action on climate change.
Key activities include:
- Developing, supporting, and successfully delivering a range of sustainability projects
- Inspiring and motivating others to implement climate change and waste minimisation improvements through communications and community engagement, both internally and externally
- Contributing to networks and themed groups that facilitate climate action
- Monitoring and reporting on the council’s environmental performance and analysing performance management data
- Providing environmental advice and support regarding projects, commissioning, procurement, and council policy
- Assisting and leading in identifying and producing funding bids aligned with team business plans, strategies, and priorities

Experience
Proven experience in delivering sustainability or environmental projects, community engagement, and working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Experience in monitoring and reporting environmental performance is desirable.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in environmental science, sustainability, project management, or a related field are desirable but not essential. A commitment to continuous learning and development is important.
