About the Role
Join AECOM’s Impact Assessment Practice Area (IAPA) team in Birmingham for a graduate role starting between June and September 2026. IAPA is part of the Environment & Sustainability business, which leads efforts to tackle climate and biodiversity emergencies through multidisciplinary environmental solutions. You will support nationally significant infrastructure projects including sustainable energy generation, transmission, and water distribution by coordinating environmental inputs, preparing assessment reports, and providing post-planning consent support during construction and operation phases.

This role requires inquisitive minds who can ask the right questions to shape projects for environmentally beneficial outcomes. You will work closely with clients, design teams, and stakeholders to identify constraints, avoid impacts, and develop solutions. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and take personal responsibility are essential. You will be paired with a senior mentor and participate in AECOM’s two-year graduate ADVANCE development programme, designed to support your career growth and professional qualifications such as IEMA or IES chartership.

Enjoy flexible hybrid working, career development opportunities, technical practice networks, and a supportive environment committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
