About the Role
Join AECOM's Impact Assessment team in Basingstoke for an immediate start as a Graduate. You will be part of a leading environment and sustainability practice delivering solutions to public and private sector clients, addressing climate and biodiversity emergencies. The team works across multiple disciplines including Acoustics, Air Quality, Ecology, Heritage, Landscape, Water Environment, Climate Change, Sustainability & Resilience, and more.

Your role will involve coordinating multidisciplinary environmental inputs for infrastructure projects, supporting clients and design teams to identify environmental constraints, avoid impacts, and develop beneficial solutions. You will assist in preparing environmental assessment reports and provide post-planning consent support during project construction and operation.

Projects include nationally significant infrastructure developments focused on sustainable energy generation, transmission, and water distribution. You will be encouraged to ask questions, engage with diverse stakeholders, and develop your communication skills while contributing to environmentally beneficial outcomes.

Requirements

Experience
No prior professional experience required; enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are essential. Experience in environmental consultancy or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with confidence to engage clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively within a team and manage time to meet project deadlines
- Self-starter with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work flexibly under pressure and respond to changing project demands
- Commercial awareness to support business development and proposal preparation
- Willingness and ability to travel for site surveys and project needs
- Positive attitude towards learning and personal development
- Good numeracy and strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Qualifications
Ideally a relevant first degree or postgraduate qualification in one or more of the following areas: environmental impact assessment, environmental economics, environmental management, environmental planning, environmental policy, environmental science, geography, sustainable development, social science, housing (sustainable, planning, regeneration, urban management).

A good understanding of digital solutions to support environmental and sustainability challenges is desirable.

A full driving licence or access to reliable transport is beneficial due to travel requirements.

Fluency in English is required.
