About the Role
Join AECOM's Impact Assessment Practice Area (IAPA) team in Basingstoke for an immediate start as a Graduate. IAPA is part of the Environment & Sustainability business, delivering environment and sustainability solutions across the UK and Ireland. You will support multidisciplinary environmental inputs for infrastructure projects, helping clients gain development consent and develop environmentally beneficial solutions. Your work will include coordinating environmental assessments, preparing reports, and providing post-planning consent support during project construction and operation. Key projects involve sustainable energy generation, transmission, and water distribution. This role offers the opportunity to work with diverse teams, develop your skills, and contribute to tackling climate and biodiversity challenges while shaping projects for positive environmental outcomes.

Requirements

Experience
No prior professional experience required; enthusiasm and a proactive approach to learning are essential.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with confidence to engage clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Willingness and ability to travel for site surveys and project needs
- Ability to work flexibly under pressure and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines
- Self-starter with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Commercial awareness to support business development and proposal preparation
- Commitment to personal and professional development, including pursuing relevant chartership

Qualifications
Ideally, a relevant first degree or postgraduate qualification in one or more of the following areas: environmental impact assessment, environmental economics, environmental management, environmental planning, environmental policy, environmental science, geography, housing (sustainable, planning, regeneration and urban management), social science, or sustainable development. A good understanding of digital solutions for environmental and sustainability challenges is desirable. A full driving licence or access to reliable transport is beneficial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong research and report writing skills are required.
