About the Role
Join AECOM's Impact Assessment Practice Area (IAPA) team in Birmingham as a Graduate starting between June and September 2026. IAPA is part of the Environment & Sustainability business, which employs around 730 staff across the UK and Ireland, providing environment and sustainability solutions to public and private sector clients. The team is at the forefront of tackling climate and biodiversity emergencies through multidisciplinary environmental inputs on infrastructure projects, helping clients gain development consent and delivering sustainable outcomes.
Your work will include coordinating environmental assessments, working with clients and design teams to identify constraints and develop solutions, preparing environmental assessment reports, and supporting projects post-planning consent during construction and operation phases. You will contribute to nationally significant infrastructure projects focused on sustainable energy generation, transmission, and water distribution.

Experience
No prior professional experience is required; enthusiasm and a proactive attitude are essential. Experience in environmental consultancy or related sectors is advantageous but not mandatory.

Qualifications
- Relevant first degree, and potentially a relevant postgraduate degree, in subjects such as environmental impact assessment, environmental economics, environmental management, environmental planning, environmental policy, environmental science, geography, housing (sustainable, planning, regeneration and urban management), social science, or sustainable development
- Good understanding of digital solutions to support environmental and sustainability challenges
- Full driving licence or access to reliable transport is beneficial due to travel requirements
- Fluent in English (verbal and written)
