About the Role
Join AECOM's Impact Assessment Practice Area (IAPA) team in Birmingham as a Graduate starting between June and September 2026. IAPA is part of the Environment & Sustainability business, which employs around 730 staff across the UK and Ireland, providing environment and sustainability solutions to public and private sector clients. The team is at the forefront of tackling climate and biodiversity emergencies through multidisciplinary environmental inputs on infrastructure projects, helping clients gain development consent and delivering sustainable outcomes.

Your work will include coordinating environmental assessments, working with clients and design teams to identify constraints and develop solutions, preparing environmental assessment reports, and supporting projects post-planning consent during construction and operation phases. You will contribute to nationally significant infrastructure projects focused on sustainable energy generation, transmission, and water distribution.

We seek inquisitive individuals who can ask the right questions to shape projects for environmentally beneficial outcomes. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential to engage with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. We value a willingness to learn, personal responsibility, and a collaborative mindset.

At AECOM, you will benefit from a supportive environment including a dedicated mentor, a comprehensive 2-year Graduate ADVANCE development programme, access to AECOM University, and opportunities for professional development including Chartership with relevant institutions such as IEMA or IES. Enjoy flexible hybrid working options, career development opportunities, and a culture committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
