About the Role
Join AECOM's Impact Assessment Practice team as a Graduate based in our Croydon and St Albans offices, starting Spring or Summer 2026. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering environment and sustainability solutions to public and private sector clients, helping address climate and biodiversity emergencies. The role involves coordinating environmental inputs across infrastructure projects, supporting clients and design teams to identify environmental constraints, avoid impacts, and develop solutions. You will assist in preparing environmental assessment reports and provide post-planning consent support during project construction and operation phases. Key projects include nationally significant infrastructure developments in sustainable energy generation, transmission, and water distribution. This role offers the opportunity to work with a global leader in infrastructure consulting, contributing to projects that create positive and tangible environmental impacts.

Graduate Development Programme
As part of our 2-year ADVANCE graduate programme, you will receive mentoring from senior team members, attend instructor-led training sessions, engage with an online curriculum via AECOM University, and have opportunities to pursue professional development including Chartership with relevant institutions such as the Institute for Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP) or the Institute of Environmental Science (IES).
Experience
No prior professional experience required; enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are essential. Experience in environmental impact assessment or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.

Qualifications
- Relevant first degree and potentially a relevant postgraduate degree in subjects such as environmental impact assessment, environmental economics, environmental management, environmental planning, environmental policy, environmental science, geography, housing (sustainable, planning, regeneration and urban management), social science, or sustainable development
- Good understanding of digital solutions to support environmental and sustainability challenges
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong research and report writing skills, including web-based research
- Full UK driving licence or access to reliable transport is beneficial due to travel requirements
- Fluent English language skills
