About the Role
Do you want a role where you can make a real difference to the environment every day? We're looking for an Environmental Pollution Technician to join our Water Recycling team, helping to protect and enhance the environment across our region. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll work outdoors, respond to environmental incidents, support investigations and play a key part in reducing pollution and protecting local watercourses. As one of the first responders to pollution and environmental incidents, you will support operational teams to understand the cause and impact of discharges on the environment. You will collect samples, gather evidence, assess environmental impacts and deploy mitigation measures to help minimise environmental harm and restore affected areas. When not attending incidents, you will support the Dynamic Sewer Visualisation (DSV) programme by installing and maintaining monitoring equipment that helps identify issues before they become environmental problems. You will also ensure pollution response equipment is maintained, stocked and ready for action, whilst supporting wider environmental improvement initiatives across the business. Experience
Experience within the environmental or water industry would be beneficial but is not essential. We are equally interested in people with the right attitude, curiosity and willingness to learn.

About you
You will enjoy working outdoors, be comfortable working independently and have a genuine passion for protecting the environment. You will have strong communication and stakeholder management skills, excellent attention to detail and record-keeping abilities, a proactive, adaptable and resilient approach to work, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, confidence using digital systems and technology, and the ability to work safely in a variety of environments and weather conditions. Availability to participate in a standby rota and out-of-hours working is essential.

Qualifications
A full UK manual driving licence is required.
