About the Role
As an ABM External Street & Waste Operative, you will deliver high-standard cleaning and waste management services across client facilities at Mermaid Quay, an external shopping centre. This role involves working both indoors and outdoors throughout the day, supporting tailored facility solutions that exceed client expectations. Your duties will include regular waste collection and disposal, monitoring waste levels to prevent overflow, maintaining tidy and organised waste areas, and conducting litter picks and general cleaning of the external mall. You will also perform overnight pressure washing of paving and operate cleaning machines both internally and externally. Collaboration with team members and assisting supervisors to ensure optimum service delivery is essential. Health and safety compliance and reporting maintenance issues promptly are key responsibilities. Experience
Previous experience in waste management or a similar role is preferred. Strong understanding of waste disposal and recycling practices is essential.

You must be physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks related to waste handling. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is required. Flexibility to work varied hours including weekends, overnight shifts, and holiday cover is necessary.
