About the Role
Action for Children is committed to providing safe and happy spaces for all children and young people using our services. Our outdoor spaces play a vital role in this mission. We are seeking volunteer gardeners to help maintain these areas, ensuring they remain safe, tidy, and enjoyable for our service users. Your responsibilities will include planting according to the season, cutting grass, lifting and clearing garden rubbish, sweeping, weeding, pruning, watering, deadheading plants, and assisting with other related gardening tasks as needed.
Experience
Previous gardening experience is required, including pruning different types of plants.
About you
You should be happy to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including rain showers. A willingness to learn and contribute positively to the team is essential.
Qualifications
Minimum age of 18 years. Disclosure checks are required. Volunteers must provide two references from non-family members and comply with all charity policies and guidelines. Completion of an induction and any relevant training is mandatory.
