About the Role
Our Planned and Retrofit branch leads the delivery of high-quality improvement works across our portfolio—enhancing homes, increasing energy efficiency, and making a real difference in communities. As a General Operative, you will work on our refurbishment programme within the social housing sector, supporting a stable and profitable contract. You will deliver excellent service and support through local teams who understand the importance of working together for the community.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with site preparation and clean-up of the site office, removal of waste, handling and transporting materials safely and efficiently, supporting skilled tradespeople in retrofit activities, conducting minor repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining high standards of work quality and attention to detail, collaborating with team members to meet project deadlines, reporting issues promptly to the site supervisor, participating in site meetings, taking initiative in allocated tasks, and providing high levels of customer care at all times. You will also be responsible for working at heights as required.
Experience
Experience in duties related to site preparation, waste removal, material handling, minor repairs, and supporting retrofit activities is required.
About you
You must hold a full UK driving licence and be able to drive a company vehicle (must be over 21 years old, licence held for over 3 months with less than 9 points). You should be proactive, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality work while maintaining excellent customer care. A strong focus on health and safety compliance and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential.
Qualifications
Asbestos Awareness certification is required. All candidates must have the legal entitlement to work in the UK. Roles are subject to relevant background, identity, and security checks prior to employment.
