About the Role
Mears Group has been caring for residents’ homes for over 25 years, delivering a range of property services including reactive repairs, planned and cyclical maintenance to over 100 local authorities and housing providers nationwide. We are currently seeking a qualified Electrician to join our Housing Repairs and Maintenance team.
This permanent role involves working primarily in void properties carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), rectifying C1 and C2 defects, and completing inspection and testing to ensure full compliance with safety standards. You will be responsible for wiring new kitchen circuits, installing and replacing extraction fans, and supporting kitchen upgrade works. Additionally, you will provide support to responsive repairs when required and participate in the emergency call-out rota.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in inspection, testing, and fault finding, be able to work independently, and consistently deliver high-quality, compliant work with strong attention to detail.
Experience
- Previous domestic and social housing electrical experience
- Proven ability in inspection, testing, and fault finding
- Experience working independently and delivering high-quality work
About you
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Reliable and able to participate in emergency call-out rota
- Clean driving record and ability to drive company vehicles (must be over 21 and held licence for over 3 months with less than 9 points)
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations including AM2
- City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (17th edition holders can work towards 18th edition)
- Inspection and Testing qualification 2391 or equivalent (2394/2395 preferable)
- Full UK driving licence
