About the Role
Join Tetra Tech’s dynamic Geo-Environmental Team, a group of around 100 specialists across the UK and Ireland working in Ground Investigation, Land Quality & Remediation (including PFAS & EDD services), and Groundwater & Geothermal disciplines. As a Geo-Environmental Consultant, you will work on contaminated land, site investigation, and brownfield redevelopment projects across various sectors including property & regeneration, defence estates, and transport. The role involves approximately 60% site-based work and 40% office-based tasks, though this may vary.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with the design, procurement, supervision, and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations; undertaking desk study assessments; accurate collection, analysis, and interpretation of site data; producing detailed reports; and conducting ground gas and groundwater monitoring and assessment.

Experience
Around 3-5 years’ experience in a similar geo-environmental consultancy role. Proven experience managing and supervising ground investigations on site, including groundwater and ground gas monitoring. Confident in data interpretation and report production.

Qualifications
A degree in geology, engineering geology, environmental science, or a related subject. Full manual driving licence. Knowledgeable in current practices and standards for contaminated land investigation and remediation. Ability to produce Phase 1 geo-environmental desk study reports including preliminary risk assessments and Phase 2 interpretative reports with qualitative and generic quantitative risk assessments. Relevant site works accreditations/qualifications (e.g. SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS, first aid) are advantageous.
