About the Role
Join AECOM's Soil, Groundwater and Remediation (SGR) Services team as an enthusiastic Graduate Geo-Environmental Consultant based in Croydon. You will be part of one of the largest environmental site investigation and assessment divisions in the UK&I, working on projects for leading UK and international clients across sectors including industrial, pharmaceutical, infrastructure, ports, road and rail. You will be paired with an experienced mentor to guide you through live projects and business development tasks, supporting your learning and development through our graduate development programme.
Your key duties will include designing and undertaking desk studies, site investigations, risk assessments and remediation solutions, coordinating subcontractors, supervising ground investigation works, and collecting soil and groundwater samples. You will compile and interpret data into conceptual models to inform risk assessments and design mitigation measures. You will champion best health and safety practices and implement AECOM's principles of environmental protection and sustainability within the SGR Services business.

Experience
- No prior experience required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential.
- Field investigation experience, groundwater data collection, and understanding of contaminated land assessment are advantageous.
- Some experience in a corporate or consultancy environment, including placements or voluntary work, is beneficial.

Qualifications
- MSc preferred but not essential.
- Degree in Environmental Engineering, Engineering Geology, Applied Geology, Exploration Geology, Environmental Geology, Physical Geography, Hydrology, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Process Engineering (with land contamination modules), Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Mineral Resources, Environmental Chemistry, Land Reclamation and Restoration, Environmental Assessment and Control, or related fields with a contaminated land interest.
- Knowledge of geological and hydrogeological concepts and chemistry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness and ability to learn rapidly and adapt to changing project demands.
