About the Role
Join Altrad, a leading provider of infrastructure services, and play a pivotal role within the site integrated Health & Safety team at Hinkley Point C (HPC). As an HSE Advisor, you will champion the HPC way by ensuring health, safety, environmental, and welfare standards are consistently met across a multi-functional, disciplined project. Your responsibilities include monitoring practices across project teams and contractors, conducting regular HSE inspections, providing specialist advice to project management, and supporting training and incident investigations. You will split your time between site and office environments, performing inspections and observations each shift, intervening when unsafe practices are observed, and proposing corrective actions. This role requires building strong working relationships with Tier 1 contractors and the Principal Contractor, maintaining compliance with site procedures, and demonstrating flexibility to take on additional duties as required. Working with Altrad means contributing to the success of a critical infrastructure project while being part of a dynamic and innovative team focused on safety and excellence.

Requirements

Experience
- NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Construction Certificate, or equivalent
- Background in COSHH and DSEAR regulations
- IOSH membership or equivalent professional accreditation
- Site-based experience in a similar role, ideally within the nuclear industry
- Understanding of nuclear site licence conditions and health & safety regulations
- Auditing experience or relevant qualification
- Strong investigative skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office

Committed to health and safety excellence with the ability to build strong working relationships across multi-disciplinary teams. You are proactive in identifying and resolving unsafe practices and flexible in taking on additional responsibilities. Willingness to undertake relevant training, including Level 3 Award in Education and trade-specific certifications, is essential.

Qualifications
Relevant NEBOSH certification and IOSH membership or equivalent professional accreditation are required. Additional training and certifications related to the nuclear industry and HSE functions will be supported.
