About the Role
Join AECOM's Water Environment team as a Hydrogeology/Groundwater Specialist Graduate, working on diverse projects across the UK and internationally. You will contribute to groundwater investigative studies, including baseline assessments, conceptual site model preparation, water level and quality data analysis, and environmental compliance. The role involves fieldwork such as borehole drilling supervision, pumping test oversight, and environmental monitoring. You will develop skills in groundwater exploration, impact assessments, and mitigation recommendations while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on major projects like HS2.

Your responsibilities will include site data collection and supervision, data collation and analysis using specialist software such as AquiferWin32, desk study evaluations, preparation of graphical and GIS deliverables, and contributing to business development and innovation. You will gain valuable experience through a blend of fieldwork, data interpretation, and report writing, supported by a structured graduate development programme.

Requirements

Experience
No prior professional experience required; enthusiasm and motivation to learn are essential. Experience with hydrogeology-related degree modules and preferably dissertation work is expected.

About you
Self-motivated, hardworking, and ambitious with strong research and report writing skills. Able to work collaboratively within a team and independently, managing priorities effectively under pressure. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with confidence to engage with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. Strong numeracy and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications
Master's degree in Hydrogeology, Water Resources, Physical Geography, or a related groundwater/hydrogeology subject. A full UK driving licence is desirable due to travel requirements for site surveys. Commitment to professional development, including potential Chartership with relevant institutions such as ICE or CIEEM.
