About the Role
Join AECOM's Water Environment team as a Hydrogeology/Groundwater Specialist Graduate from January 2026 onwards. You will work on groundwater investigative studies including baseline assessments, conceptual site model preparation, water level and quality data analysis, and environmental compliance. The role involves groundwater exploration and development field studies such as drilling supervision, borehole design, water monitoring, and pumping test supervision. You will also contribute to groundwater impact assessments, constraint identification, catchment delineation, hydrogeological impact evaluation, and recommending mitigation measures.

Your responsibilities will include writing reports, analyzing and interpreting data, and presenting findings. Fieldwork will involve water feature surveys, borehole drilling supervision, pumping test supervision, and environmental monitoring. As you gain site experience, you will take on more responsibility for data interpretation and report preparation.

Key duties:
- Site work including groundwater and surface water data collection and borehole drilling supervision
- Data collation, processing, and analysis using specialist groundwater software such as AquiferWin32
- Desk study evaluation of hydrogeology and contributions to factual and assessment reports
- Preparation of graphical and GIS deliverables
- Supporting innovation, business development, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including hydrology, flood, geotechnics, contaminated land, and ecology

At AECOM, you will benefit from a flexible hybrid working model, career development opportunities, technical practice networks, AECOM University training, and volunteering days. You will be supported by a senior mentor and participate in the 2-year graduate ADVANCE programme designed to build your career and professional skills, including potential Chartership with relevant institutions such as ICE and CIEEM.
