About the Role
Join Forestry England, the country’s largest land manager, dedicated to growing and caring for the nation’s forests for people, nature, and the economy. As an Internal Engagement Officer, you will be part of a friendly, passionate team that shares a love for the environment and forests. Your role will involve promoting Forestry England’s work by creating engaging content that explains how forests are grown and cared for now and in the future. You will collaborate with various teams to deliver clear messages, share updates, and support internal communications for projects and organisational changes. This role suits someone who enjoys working with others, building strong relationships, and communicating clearly.
Based within the South England Forest District, you will contribute to managing 46,000 hectares of public forest estate spanning Sussex to Dorset and Berkshire to the Isle of Wight. This area includes nationally and internationally important conservation sites and provides public access with nearly 50 million visits annually. The position is a fixed term appointment until 28 May 2027, with the possibility of extension or permanency but no guarantee. If appointed to PB5 or above, you may be required to join the District duty roster after a suitable period.

Experience
Relevant experience in internal communications, engagement, or a related field is desirable. Experience working collaboratively across teams to deliver clear and engaging messages is important.
