Location
Initially based at Forestry England’s Yorkshire Office in Pickering, moving to Dalby Forest Office in autumn/winter 2027. Regular travel around Forestry England’s estate in Yorkshire required, with occasional trips outside Yorkshire for meetings that may require overnight stays.

About the Role

As Works Supervisor – Nature Recovery, you will play a key role in delivering on-the-ground environmental outcomes by planning and supervising forestry operations. Working closely with the Forester – Nature Recovery and wider teams, you will help turn Forestry England’s bold ambitions for nature recovery into reality across Yorkshire’s landscapes. This fixed-term role (ending March 2029) offers the opportunity to make a tangible, large-scale impact on nature recovery, supporting initiatives such as ancient woodland restoration and biodiversity enhancement. You will be part of a passionate team committed to conservation and sustainable land management, contributing to Forestry England’s Biodiversity Plan and wider environmental goals.

Experience in land management and contract supervision is essential to effectively plan and oversee forestry operations that deliver environmental outcomes.

You work well collaboratively and independently, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver results at pace. You are committed to quality service and making effective decisions that support Forestry England’s environmental ambitions.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in forestry, land management, or environmental conservation are desirable but not explicitly stated. A willingness to undergo security and criminal record checks is required. Candidates must have the ability to communicate accurately in spoken English.
