About the Role
Join Forestry England's Land Management team in the South and support the people who care for the New Forest and the wider South Forest District. Working alongside foresters, wildlife rangers, engineers and land management specialists, you will provide essential administrative and business support. Your responsibilities will include coordinating contracts, recruitment, meetings, records and information management. No prior forestry experience is required—just a willingness to learn and work collaboratively as part of a supportive team making a real difference for nature, climate and local communities.
Forestry England is the country's largest land manager, caring for the nation's forests for people, nature and the economy. The South England Forest District team manages 46,000 hectares of public forest estate stretching from Sussex to Dorset and Berkshire to the Isle of Wight. Much of this land is nationally and internationally important for nature conservation, including Special Areas of Conservation, Special Protection Areas and Ramsar sites. The district also provides public access and recreation, welcoming nearly 50 million visits annually.
As part of Forestry England, you will contribute to sustainable forest management, creating amazing places and experiences, providing vital wildlife habitats, improving air quality and producing sustainable timber.
