About the Role
We are recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join our Wastewater Division at the Riverside STW site. You will carry out scheduled planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment following company procedures to minimise plant breakdowns. Investigating plant failures and performing repairs promptly to avoid process interruptions will be a key responsibility. This may include diagnosing complex faults and repairing equipment during incidents.
You will provide technical advice, stay up to date with technical knowledge, and support or train technical trainees when required. Equipment you will work on includes various pumps and control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSDs, automatic valves and penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement devices, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, and chemical handling and dosing equipment.
You will also participate in a standby rota after completing the relevant training. All necessary PPE, tools, and a company van will be provided when on duty and on call.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact while developing your multi-skilled expertise in a supportive and rewarding environment.
