38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm.
Salary
Up to £54,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
About the Role
We are recruiting an Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) Technician for Oxford Wastewater Treatment Works. This hands-on role involves delivering planned and reactive ICA maintenance to ensure asset reliability and compliance. You will support site control systems including SCADA, PLCs, and process control networks, working closely within a multi-disciplinary team across operations, electrical, and mechanical functions. Key responsibilities include installing, commissioning, and fault-finding on instrumentation and control equipment to industry standards, investigating plant and equipment failures, and completing timely repairs to minimise downtime. You will provide ICA technical expertise, maintain current knowledge of best practices, and respond to emergency alarms and unplanned events. The role requires working independently at times, making adherence to high health and safety standards essential. You will be provided with a fully equipped van, tools, and resources, which you will be expected to maintain to a high standard. Experience
Experience in calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation.
Knowledge and experience working with relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Allen-Bradley), including management and programming.
Ability to read and fault-find from circuit diagrams.
Previous experience with inverter drives.
Understanding of Wonderware and ClearSCADA is desirable.
3-phase electrical knowledge or qualifications.
Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team and independently.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement or escalate solutions.
Excellent communication skills to provide technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.

Qualified to HNC level or NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in instrumentation, control and automation discipline.
