38 Hours Monday - Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm plus standby & overtime opportunity increasing earnings by a potential £8,000 - £10,000.
Salary
Up to £39,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
About the Role
We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team at our Hampton Water Treatment Works (WTW). As the successful candidate, your role will be to ensure that all equipment at our waste treatment works is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods. You will investigate plant failures and perform repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process. This may involve diagnosing complex faults and performing repairs during incidents. You will work on equipment such as motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and associated control gear. Completing statutory checks and always working safely while complying with all Health and Safety guidance and procedures is essential.
Experience
You should be a time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or with NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
About you
You are a problem solver, able to identify potential issues and implement solutions. You possess excellent communication skills to provide technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors. You are resilient, adapting to the pressures of work in a constantly changing environment, and can work with minimum supervision. You have knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry and are a team player who respects others and supports their development. IT literacy and a full UK driving licence are also required.
Qualifications
NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering is preferred.
