Up to £37,680 per annum, depending on skills and experience, with potential earnings increase of £8,000-£10,000 from standby and overtime
About the Role
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Technician with hands-on experience to work out of our Northeast London water production sites. As a successful candidate, you will use your mechanical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment in a safe, efficient, timely, and effective manner with minimum supervision. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact, actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites. Main duties include ensuring health and safety compliance, undertaking both reactive and planned maintenance, installing new plant and equipment, recording work and asset information, providing specialist technical advice, and delivering an excellent customer experience.
Experience
You should be a time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or possess NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering.
About you
You are a problem solver, an excellent communicator, resilient, and able to work with minimum supervision. You have knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry and are a team player who respects others and supports their development.
Qualifications
NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical engineering qualification is essential. A valid driving license is also required.
