Location
Oxford, with maintenance teams across London and the Thames Valley.

Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 3:36 pm, plus standby rota payments and overtime opportunities.

Salary
Up to £39,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.

About the Role
As a Mechanical Technician at Thames Water, you will use your mechanical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment safely, efficiently, and with minimal supervision. Your work ensures all sites remain operational, helping to reduce pollution and improve Thames Water's environmental impact. Key responsibilities include undertaking reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms, fault finding, installing new plant and equipment in line with standards and regulations, recording work and asset information, identifying risks, and providing specialist technical advice. You will also coach and develop staff, including apprentices, and deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external customers in a professional and respectful manner.

Additional Benefits
Standby rota payments and overtime can increase earning potential by £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training. All PPE, tools, and a van are provided when on duty and on call.

Requirements

Experience
Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or holding NVQ or C&G Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering.

- Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications
NVQ or C&G Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent time-served apprenticeship qualification.
