About the Role
We are looking for an Environmental Project Manager to join Thames Water on a 12 month contract. The purpose of the role is to drive performance and directly impact one of Thames Water's top three deliverables: pollution reduction. The role aims to create a low-polluting entity where pollution events are infrequent and have minimal environmental impact. This must be achieved alongside maintaining safety and financial performance.
Environmental performance is monitored by regulators through compliance with environmental permits and the number and severity of pollution incidents, which inform the Environmental Performance Assessment (EPA). You will programme manage initiatives delivered by others to ensure pollution events remain minimal. These initiatives are documented in the Pollution Incident Reduction Plan (PIRP) and the turnaround plan.
Key responsibilities include managing projects using both agile and waterfall methodologies based on data-led insights to reduce pollution incidents, evolving reporting for core wastewater teams to support pollution reduction initiatives, bringing benefit measurement into initiatives, liaising with industry counterparts to share knowledge, and providing data and insight to support continuous improvement.
We encourage applicants to attach a cover letter alongside their CV to help us understand your motivation and get to know you better.
