About the Role
Enva is a leading provider of recycling and resource recovery solutions, helping businesses and communities across the UK manage their waste responsibly. We are seeking a proactive and experienced Night Shift Supervisor to lead our overnight operations within our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). In this hands-on leadership role, you will supervise a team of operatives, ensuring the safe and efficient processing of recyclable materials while maintaining high standards of productivity, quality, and compliance throughout the night shift. You will oversee plant operations, coordinate daily activities, and work closely with maintenance and management teams to achieve production targets and promote a strong safety culture.
Key responsibilities include leading, motivating, and supervising a team, allocating work, providing coaching and support, promoting health and safety through briefings and hazard identification, monitoring plant and equipment performance, coordinating with maintenance to minimise downtime, overseeing sorting and processing to ensure quality and minimise contamination, maintaining high standards of housekeeping, recording shift performance and incidents, and ensuring compliance with company policies and environmental requirements.
Experience
Previous experience supervising teams within an industrial, manufacturing, recycling, or waste environment is essential. Experience working within a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) or waste management environment is desirable. Experience supervising plant operations and production targets is also advantageous.

You will have strong leadership, communication, and people management skills with the ability to confidently manage teams and maintain operational performance in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities are required. A strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance is essential. You must be able to work permanent night shifts and have good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
Qualifications
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health and safety qualification is desirable.
