About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support our Non-Core Wastewater projects. You will provide engineering and technical support, oversee quality standards, and ensure works are delivered accurately and in accordance with project requirements. Key responsibilities include undertaking setting out activities such as line and level, using setting-out equipment confidently including EDM and dumpy levels, completing pre- and post-work inspections and checks, maintaining accurate site records and producing as-built information, carrying out quality checks on materials and completed installations, checking subcontracted works, acting as the quality lead across assigned projects, responding to technical queries on site, and communicating effectively with clients, subcontractors, and project teams. You will work independently across multiple sites ensuring compliance with relevant specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
Experience
- Previous wastewater experience within the United Utilities framework or another water company
- Strong setting-out experience including line and level
- Practical knowledge of EDM and dumpy-level equipment
- Excellent record-keeping and as-built documentation skills
- Ability to assess the quality of materials and installations
- Confidence dealing with technical queries on site
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively without direct supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving licence due to travel requirements between sites

You are a confident and experienced Site Engineer who takes ownership of engineering and quality across projects. You communicate effectively with diverse teams and clients, work independently, and maintain high standards of quality and safety.
Qualifications
- Relevant engineering qualification (advantageous)
- CSCS Gold Card or ability to work towards one
- Previous supervisory experience (advantageous)
- SSSTS or SMSTS (advantageous)
- First Aid qualification (advantageous)
- Temporary Works Supervisor or Temporary Works Coordinator training (advantageous)
