Salary
Up to £52,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and driven leader to manage our Outfall Investigation Team, a group of technicians contributing to the Surface Water Outfall Programme (SWOP). This programme addresses misconnections that impact water quality across specific project catchments throughout the Thames Water region. As the Outfall Investigation Team Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery and management of projects in line with SWOP, using national guidance and collaborating with the Environment Agency and other stakeholders. Your role will include understanding misconnections and responsibilities to rectify them, driving continuous improvement of key processes, and implementing future innovations. You will maintain and increase engagement with internal and external stakeholders, record Key Performance Indicators by collating relevant reporting data, and ensure projects are delivered on budget and within timelines while highlighting savings opportunities. You will also lead the career development of your team, promote a strong Health and Safety culture through regular audits and inspections, ensure excellent customer service by promptly investigating complaints, and act as a Duty Environmental Scientist.

Experience
Proven project and programme management experience
Knowledge of drainage and sewerage systems with a focus on urban diffuse pollution
Competent in using IT systems including GIS and Microsoft O365 software
Leadership and people management experience
Stakeholder engagement skills
Full driving licence

Environmental acumen with a passion for water quality and environmental protection
Ability to lead and develop a team
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Qualifications
NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential
