£32,000 to £40,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience
About the Role
Thames Water is seeking a Process Scientist to join a small team providing scientific advice and guidance to internal and external departments. The role ensures water quality is efficiently maintained from source to service reservoir, with timely and effective responses to incidents, events, and performance shortfalls. You will monitor water quality, produce weekly reports from trends and sample data, investigate water quality failures and events at company assets, and raise findings to the Drinking Water Safety Plan (DWSP). You will provide recommendations to prevent future events, support Production and Capital Delivery schemes to meet water quality requirements, and assist with internal water treatment works audits and treatment reviews. The role includes undertaking out-of-hours technical support on a one-in-six rota, with appropriate training provided. Experience
Experience in water science or process engineering within a regulatory framework is advantageous. Awareness of Industry Best Operating Practice related to potable water treatment and transmission is beneficial.

You are an enthusiastic self-starter with an inquisitive mindset who enjoys investigative work. You have good organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders. You can work logically and analytically while maintaining a positive and professional approach when dealing with customers. Travel to multiple sites is required; therefore, a valid UK driving licence is essential as transport will be provided.
Qualifications
Degree qualified in an appropriate discipline.
