About the Role
We have a great opportunity for a Process Technician to join our team covering water production sites, reservoirs, and pumping stations across Southwest London. No prior experience in the water industry is required; we welcome applications from candidates outside the sector who bring fresh perspectives and ideas. This essential front-line role ensures the operation of water treatment works to maintain supply to customers and protect the environment. You will work in all weather conditions carrying out a range of tasks including planned preventative maintenance of equipment to support plant operations.
Your responsibilities will include operating plant and equipment used in groundwater treatment to meet strict drinking water standards, performing cleaning, basic maintenance, routine checks, and fault-finding. You will monitor, collate, and report data to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance, undertake health, safety, and security checks, and report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly. Accurate fault reporting and recording of work and asset information using a field laptop will be required. You will also receive chemical deliveries, ensuring correct checks and paperwork, provide technical assistance and guidance to new starters and colleagues, and actively participate in team meetings, safety briefings, and company communications, offering constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
There has never been a better time to join Thames Water as we build towards a greener future, tackling climate change, minimising environmental impact, and reducing our carbon footprint.
