About the Role
We have a great opportunity for a Process Technician to join our team at Thames Water Ring Main. No previous water industry experience is required; we welcome applications from candidates outside the sector who can bring fresh perspectives and ideas. This is an essential front-line role critical to the operation of our water treatment works. You will work in all weather conditions carrying out a range of tasks to ensure the plant operates efficiently, maintaining water supply to customers and protecting the environment. Your duties will include planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of equipment to support plant operations.
Key responsibilities include operating plant and equipment used in groundwater treatment to meet strict drinking water standards, performing cleaning, basic maintenance, routine checks, and fault-finding. You will monitor, collate, and report data to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance, undertake health, safety, and security checks, and report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly. Accurate fault reporting and recording of work and asset information using a field laptop will be required. You will also receive chemical deliveries, ensuring correct checks and paperwork, provide technical assistance to new starters and colleagues, and actively participate in team meetings, safety briefings, and company communications.
There has never been a better time to join Thames Water as we build towards a greener future, tackling climate change, minimising environmental impact, and reducing our carbon footprint.
