An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Architect to become an integral part of our expanding Architectural team at WSP. You will be a qualified Architect who supports concept, planning and the technical design of construction projects across a range of sectors. This includes developing project design, producing presentation drawings and sketches, assisting in solving design and technical complexities, and preparing accurate information for construction.

You will be responsible for leading specific aspects of projects and project teams, assisting in completing various project phases and ensuring service excellence to clients. Under the direction of the Project Lead or senior project leaders, you will develop, modify, and review models and drawings to ensure design intent is incorporated.

Your duties may include developing and implementing project design concepts, project modelling, sketch development, research and data collection, preparing presentations and reports, and producing coordinated design and construction documents including specifications. You will work on multiple projects, exploring innovative methods to achieve design solutions, completing tasks within deadlines and budgets, and effectively utilizing resources.

You will interact with clients and internal and external consultants, participate in project development, and present ideas clearly and persuasively. You will prepare, manage, and modify architectural documents, plans, elevations, sections, and details following standards. You will develop solutions to technical and design problems with attention to detail, efficiency, and quality.

Additional responsibilities include assisting in project scope and service development during contract processes, preparing 2D and 3D presentations, models, design drawings and renderings, performing product research, and assisting Project Designers and Architects with materials selection and system research. You will incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects, always considering the wider impact.

Requirements

Experience
Previous experience in the construction or architectural industry is required. Experience working autonomously and as part of an architectural design team, managing and delivering Tender and Construction Stage works packages. Experience across multiple industry sectors with demonstrable results. Experience working in Common Data Environments (CDE).

About you
A qualified Architect with strong technical design knowledge and skills in UK construction methodology. Able to manage junior colleagues, provide guidance and support, manage design tasks and deliverables, and report progress and risks to project leads. Able to communicate technical details graphically and effectively to colleagues and clients. Able to follow company values and exhibit appropriate behaviours. Efficient time management and active participation in team meetings.

Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC).

Qualifications
Must be a qualified Architect. Understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant technical design guidance and standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required. Proficiency in creating visualisations is advantageous but not essential.

Business & Financial
Support the Project Lead in developing project execution plans including financial planning and resource forecasting. Provide input on project programming and financial planning.
