About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us on our journey. This role sits within our consultancy business, specifically the justice sector, and involves leading a project that is already progressing on site. The projects incorporate the latest modern methods of construction and standardised processes.

The successful candidate will be the lead Project Manager throughout the delivery of the project, managing wider consultant teams and project stakeholders to ensure successful delivery. This client-facing role offers the opportunity to work on a wider programme delivering new prisoner places, becoming part of a larger team working on multiple projects within the Ministry of Justice portfolio.

You will gain experience in project delivery throughout construction and handover stages, meeting defined time, cost, technical performance, and quality requirements. You will be highly motivated, capable of developing project plans, and supporting the leadership of an existing professional team to drive forward the client’s strategy. As Project Manager, you will build strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and supply chain members to lead all aspects of delivery.

Key responsibilities include determining project management, technical services, and external resources required; delivering project objectives in line with the Project Execution Plan; leading and supervising project teams and stakeholders; monitoring health, safety, and wellbeing; preparing and updating project plans; overseeing timeframes and budgets; collaborating with stakeholders to ensure quality systems; managing meetings and site walks; partnering in risk management; coordinating communication; documenting project changes; and supporting the net zero carbon transition by proactively managing carbon emissions during project delivery.

EL1 vetting clearance is required for this role.
