About the Role
At Mace, our purpose is to redefine the boundaries of ambition by creating responsible places that bring transformative impact to people, communities, and societies globally. Within our consult business, we combine leading-edge practical expertise and project delivery consultancy to unlock the potential in every project.

This role supports one of the largest water companies in the UK, responsible for water and wastewater services in England. The client’s purpose is to deliver services in an environmentally sustainable, economically beneficial, and socially responsible manner, creating sustainable long-term value.

As Project Manager, you will plan and lead the successful delivery of a programme of works managed by an Area delivery team comprising the client’s partners and contractors. You will ensure delivery aligns with corporate values and requirements including health and safety strategy, target operating model principles, and regulatory, customer, and resilience outcomes.

You will act as the senior interface between the area delivery team and the business, managing internal and external stakeholders to ensure capital programme success in line with business strategy.

Key responsibilities include promoting safety first by exhibiting visible safety behaviours and supporting wellbeing; managing project plans from inception through to handover; owning projects throughout their lifecycle; driving design development; undertaking contract administration with a thorough understanding of NEC3/4 contracts; ensuring compliance with environmental, CDM 2015, health and safety, water quality, and statutory standards; managing contractors and third-party liaisons; and maintaining strong stakeholder engagement.

You will also manage budgets, highlight risks and mitigations, support long-term business development, lead and motivate project and consultant teams, and actively network to leverage Mace’s knowledge and centres of excellence.

This role offers the opportunity to work on large infrastructure projects within the water sector, contributing to sustainable and impactful project delivery while growing your career with Mace.
