About the Role
At Mace, we aim to redefine the boundaries of ambition by creating responsible places that bring transformative impact to people, communities, and societies globally. Within our consult business, we combine leading-edge practical expertise and project delivery consultancy to unlock the potential in every project.

This role supports one of the largest water companies in the UK, responsible for water and wastewater services in England. The client is committed to delivering services in an environmentally sustainable, economically beneficial, and socially responsible manner, creating sustainable long-term value.

As Project Manager, you will plan and lead the successful delivery of a programme of works managed by an ‘Area delivery team’ comprising the client’s partners and contractors. You will ensure delivery aligns with corporate values and requirements including health and safety strategy, target operating model, and regulatory, customer, and resilience outcomes.

You will act as the senior interface between the area delivery team and the business, managing internal and external stakeholders to ensure the capital programme is delivered in line with the client’s business strategy.

Key responsibilities include promoting safety first by exhibiting visible safety behaviours and supporting wellbeing, managing project plans from inception through to handover, driving design development, contract administration under NEC3/4 contracts, ensuring compliance with environmental, CDM 2015, water quality, and statutory standards, and managing contractors and third-party liaisons.

You will also manage project budgets, risks, and mitigations, support the long-term development of the business unit, and foster a diverse and inclusive working environment. You will lead design and consultant teams collaboratively and manage project teams and stakeholders to achieve strategic KPIs.

Utilising Mace’s knowledge hubs and centres of excellence, you will network and apply best practices to deliver successful outcomes.
