Salary
£36,000 to £42,000 per annum, depending on experience and skills
£4,500 car allowance
About the Role
As a Regional Security Advisor within Thames Water’s Protective Security team, you will work closely with site teams and stakeholders to support and enhance the physical security of critical assets within a designated area of the estate. You will act as a vital link between regulatory guidance and the business, providing expert security advice and promoting adherence to security policies and procedures. Your role will help ensure the security of Thames Water’s people, processes, premises, and assets.
Key responsibilities include conducting security risk assessments and investigations to a consistent standard, reviewing compliance forms and escalating issues as necessary, and providing practical security advice as a subject matter expert. You will participate in testing and exercising security arrangements, support incident responses and risk register reviews, assist in auditing operational sites and systems, and provide quality assurance for security-related projects. Monitoring security KPIs and SLAs, developing stakeholder relationships, and promoting a security-conscious culture across Thames Water are also essential parts of the role.
As part of the security team, travel across the Thames Water region will be required.
Experience
- Experience in developing and writing reports with strong written communication skills
- Strong negotiation and people influencing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and present to audiences
- Experience in a related discipline such as risk management, protective security, technical or process management, with a willingness to develop into a security role
- Experience working in a regulated environment (utilities, government departments, national infrastructure) is desirable, ideally with a background in water industry, water engineering, or civil engineering

Qualifications
- Security Institute (SyI) BTEC Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Security Management is desirable
