We are seeking Engineers with experience in Water, Drainage, and Environmental Engineering for river and flood defence projects to expand our expertise and technical capability. You will support clients across the UK, including the Environment Agency, Local Authorities, and other asset management organisations, delivering designs from concept through to detailed stages across various sectors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivery of a wide variety of civil engineering river and flood related schemes
- Preparing and supporting business cases for flood protection works
- Developing outline and detailed designs for hydraulic systems, flood defences, drainage, and ancillary structures
- Collaborating with infrastructure clients on hydraulic structures such as culverts, weirs, walls, outfalls, and scour protection related to highways, rail, and property projects
- Preparing work schedules and specifications for contractors
- Conducting asset inspections of above and below ground structures
- Supervising construction works, supported as needed
- Working closely with local authorities and national environmental organisations
You will join our national Sustainable Water Management team, recognised as technical leaders in the sector, fostering a proactive, responsible, and collaborative work ethic. Experience
- Degree qualified in civil or flood risk engineering
- Post-degree experience in hydraulic designs related to river or flood defence works
- Knowledge of flood and river diversion design principles and solutions
- Experience using CAD or Civil 3D
- Site experience, ideally including site supervision roles
- Proven contribution to successful project delivery meeting quality and commercial targets

Qualifications
- Degree in civil or flood risk engineering
- Working towards or holding Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status is desirable
