About the Role
Join AECOM’s dynamic Nature team as a Senior Ecologist and contribute to shaping the future of the environment. You will work on a diverse portfolio of ecology programs and projects across sectors including power and renewables, infrastructure, environment, and transport. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as landscape, GIS, engineering, sustainability, and drainage to deliver innovative and impactful ecological consultancy services. Key responsibilities include supporting health, safety and well-being of the team, preparing high-quality bids and tenders, planning and organising ecological projects, delivering consultancy and advisory services, developing pragmatic solutions to complex ecological issues, producing ecology chapters for environmental statements and protected species licence applications, and authoring or reviewing project deliverables to ensure excellence. You will be part of a team of around 150 experts across the UK&I, working on projects such as large solar farms, energy transition initiatives, habitats regulations assessments, and masterplanning for new developments. Requirements

Experience
Demonstrable experience in planning and delivering ecological services on projects within the UK or Ireland. Proven track record working on complex ecological consultancy projects across relevant sectors.

Proactive and safety-conscious with a strong commitment to health and safety. Excellent communication skills to engage professionally with clients and multidisciplinary teams. Passionate about innovation and delivering high-quality ecological solutions. Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse and inclusive team environment.

Qualifications
Membership of an appropriate professional institution such as CIEEM or equivalent, with evidence of working towards Chartered status. Excellent field skills in at least one specialist ecological area, including holding any relevant protected species licences. Well-developed understanding of wildlife conservation and expertise in at least one major habitat type or species.
