About the Role
Join AECOM’s dynamic Nature team as a Senior Ecologist and help shape the future of the environment. You will work on a diverse portfolio of ecology projects across sectors such as power and renewables, infrastructure, environment, and transport. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including landscape, GIS, engineering, sustainability, and drainage, you will contribute to projects like large solar farms, energy transition initiatives, habitats regulations assessments, and masterplanning for residential developments.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the health, safety and well-being of the team, preparing high-quality bids and tenders, planning and organising ecological project work to meet programme and budget requirements, delivering consultancy and advisory services, developing pragmatic solutions to complex ecological issues, and producing ecology chapters for environmental statements and protected species licence applications. You will also author and technically review project deliverables to ensure excellence.

Experience
Demonstrable experience in planning and delivering ecological services on projects in the UK or Ireland. Proven track record in ecological consultancy across multiple sectors including energy, defence, and water.

Qualifications
Membership of an appropriate professional institution (such as CIEEM) with evidence of working towards Chartership. Excellent field skills in at least one specialist area including protected species licences. Well-developed understanding of wildlife conservation related to at least one major habitat type or species.
