About the Role
This role sits within Mace's Commercial Business Unit as the Electrical Lead on a multi-million-pound project in Central London currently in its early stages. You will be accountable for the delivery of MEP services on projects to agreed outcomes for time, budget, safety, and quality requirements. You will drive the delivery of high-quality, time-efficient, and profitable outcomes while providing leadership and accountability for compliance, governance, assurance, and managing teams of technical and construction staff. Building and retaining strong working relationships with colleagues and internal and external stakeholders is essential.

You will be responsible for driving the MEP team through professional and respectful behaviours, providing clear direction, guidance, and encouraging compliance with Mace standards. You will ensure successful delivery of MEP services including programme management, health, safety and wellbeing, quality, and commissioning. Partnering with key project stakeholders such as clients, consultants, trade contractors, and other team leaders will be a key part of your role.

Additional responsibilities include driving the tendering process, providing expert technical and commercial support to bid teams, identifying and agreeing resource needs, contributing to procurement strategies, directing contract and scope reviews, assisting in budget preparation, value engineering, scheduling, and supporting commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle.

You will input into project strategic plans aligned with Mace’s operating framework and priorities, including prefabrication, commissioning, and safety. You will direct design reviews for compliance, coordination, and completeness, considering embodied carbon and operational energy in line with RIBA and BSRIA frameworks. Developing and implementing commissioning strategies, executing productivity assessments using digital technologies, and driving project close-out activities such as commissioning, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and client training are also key duties.

Proactively identifying risks, producing mitigation plans, driving continuous improvement, managing senior stakeholder relationships (up to c-suite), and leading large teams with a focus on performance management, technical development, and coaching are critical to success. You will also collaborate towards net zero carbon transition goals, sharing responsibility for managing associated carbon emissions and reductions during project delivery.

Experience
Trade or technical apprenticeship or graduate development programme. Proven experience managing MEP teams and delivering complex projects from tender through to contract completion. Demonstrated ability to manage programme, health and safety, quality assurance, commissioning, and commercial aspects of large-scale construction projects.

Qualifications
Formal engineering training (HNC, HND, BTEC or equivalent). SMSTS and CSCS card. Advanced knowledge of engineering systems including design standards, installation techniques, prefabrication, commissioning, construction sequencing, planning, commercial management, health and safety, quality assurance, and integration of systems such as BMS and IST.
