£46,000 to £65,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience
About the Role
Thames Water is seeking experienced, forward-thinking Senior Project Engineers ready to make a real impact on the future of London’s water infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to modernise treatment works, protect the environment, and deliver essential services to millions of people every day. You will oversee the design development of multiple water network projects from initial concept and feasibility through to contract award, working closely with engineers and consultants. Key responsibilities include identifying, analysing, and mitigating project risks to enable robust scope definition and pricing, ensuring contractors implement necessary design changes during construction, and undertaking detailed design work. You will support Project Teams during commissioning and handover of assets, conduct design reviews to ensure safe and effective solutions, and act as the key contact for the CDM Designer or Principal Designer role during initial design stages. This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence 2-3 days per week.
Experience
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering within process industries and project delivery.
- Understanding of Health & Safety requirements in the construction industry.
- Experience in managing design development and construction phases of engineering projects.

Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering HNC, degree, or master’s degree in a relevant Mechanical Engineering discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status or approaching chartership with a relevant professional organisation.
- Strong understanding of industrial process engineering principles and project delivery.
