About the Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Flood Risk Consultant to join our thriving Water Environment team. You will lead hydrological and hydraulic modelling on a diverse range of projects, mentor and develop other consultants, and manage varied and challenging assignments. Your role will involve developing strong relationships with clients and regulators, contributing to business development, and preparing comprehensive fee proposals. You will be a key contributor within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary consultancy, actively involved in design office work, site meetings, inspections, and progress reporting. Effective communication and liaison with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities are essential to ensure project success. Your technical expertise will be applied in flood risk assessments and modelling using software such as Flood Modeler Pro or TUFLOW. Additionally, you will support bid preparation, research, and the strategic growth of the Water & Environment Team in the region.

Experience
Significant consultancy or industry experience as a senior modeller with strong expertise in hydrological and hydraulic modelling. Proven track record in conducting flood risk assessments in line with the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and, where applicable, Technical Advice Note 15 (TAN 15). Experience using modelling software such as Flood Modeler Pro or TUFLOW. Familiarity with the operational frameworks of the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and Lead Local Flood Authorities.
About You
Self-motivated team player with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Able to work autonomously while coordinating effectively with line management. Strong client relationship and business development skills. Understanding of planning policies and procedures to maximise client service and secure approvals. Knowledge of the developer industry is a valuable asset.
Qualifications
Strong Bachelor's degree in a water-related discipline, ideally complemented by a higher degree. Relevant professional qualifications and continuous professional development are advantageous.
